Zeroing in on all things local is Desirée Fleurs florist and café, whose flowers are sourced from French producers across Paris’ Île de France region, Brittany and the Var area in the South of France. Owners Mathilde and Audrey took four years to plan, execute and launch the concept, resulting in what has become a bright, contemporary-classic neighborhood landmark. Take your pick from the reassuringly classic Parisian pavement café tables and rattan terrace seats outside, or head inside to enjoy one of the store’s Scandi-chic tables. Bouquets aside, edible blooms take center stage at Désirée as cakes are decorated with petals, salads with fragrant herbs, and organic bread sandwiches with edible flowers. Better yet, for anyone hoping to capture a little of the Désirée’s fragrant ambiance to take home, the boutique has its own line of fragrant vegetal oil candles.
