Le Centquartre

a community art space

Opened in 2008 as a way to revitalize the industrial 19th arrondissement, Le Centquatre is where art and community overlap. In a building that used to house the city’s undertakers, you’ll find gallery space, a lending library, a café, a bookstore, a kids play area, a restaurant, a pizza truck, rehearsal space, performance space, lots of open space and chairs to do essentially whatever you want. That’s what’s so incredible about Le Centquatre is how many purposes it serves. You could be going in to visit the thrift store inside and pass a cheer practice, a yoga class, a dance rehearsal and several people practicing monologues on your way in. Le Centquatre is not a coworking (or corehearsing) space. Anyone can come in and use it, enjoy it, explore it as they please.

Programming events abound: a dance show, a photography festival, a DJ set, a breakdancing class, an art visit for kids, and a slam poet, to name a few.

Buy tickets for specific exhibits and events online, or just wander into the space for free.

Hours for Le Centquatre are Tuesday through Friday from 12pm to 7pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm, closed Mondays. Exhibitions are open Wednesday through Sunday from 2pm to 7pm, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
