Mademoiselle Mouche

a summer bar on the seine

The famed Bateaux Mouches that cruise the Seine with tourists has opened the coolest spot of summer 2019 season: Mademoiselle Mouche, a rooftop bar and garden on a barge with swoon-worthy views of the Eiffel Tower.

Lush with greenery and yummy with craft cocktails, this is the place you want to be seen at this summer (plus the breeze from the Seine helps with the heatwave). The new elevated garden bar is here to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the company of behind the Seine riverboats. Despite their tourist appeal, the red barges with bright lights have become a true part of Paris.

The cocktail bar has set out to bring back the Parisian roaring twenties with endless nights of music and dancing. Cocktails, each 13€, are named after characters from the same time period, offering a taste of true French mixology savoir-faire.

If Champagne is more your vibe, Moët & Chandon has an entire corner set up with hanging bubble chairs and chaise-longs. The destination also has a transparent bubbly igloo in case it rains or gets chilly, or if you just want a cute pic.

Mademoiselle Mouche is one of those destinations where Paris’s it crowd hangs out alongside les touristes and everyone in between. The star of the bar, truly and univocally, is of course the spectacular Eiffel Tower view. The Dame de fer stands there unblocked by any buildings (you are on the river after all).

Hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Open through October 15.
